Stabbed in the Back
One year after the appearance of “The Origin of Species”, three Anglican clerics were emboldened to publish a revolutionary book of their own, entitled “Essays and Reviews”, which ran to thirteen editions and actually outsold Darwin’s book at the time. That little-known book also relegated Genesis,and most of the rest of the Old Testament, to the realm of myth, error and superstition, causing, we are told, even more controversy than the issues of gay and women priests do today.

Sadly, then, just as belief in the Bible as the inspired word of God was under full frontal attack from atheistic forces of evolution, it was stabbed in the back by these supposed Christian scholars. And it has not yet recovered, as their unfortunate misunderstandings still form the core curriculum for candidates training for the Anglican ministry. No wonder so many clerics accept evolution, happily assuring their confused congregations that man did indeed evolve from apes and that Adam and Eve never existed. And that the Bible is "Just a book".

Scientific Disrepute
Ironically, the situation was made worse in 1961 by the publication of a creationist book purporting to put matters right, namely “The Genesis Flood” by Whitcomb and Morris. Unfortunately, that impressively detailed but scientifically erroneous opus only served to bring the scriptures into further disrepute, by claiming that “the Bible says” that the earth is only six thousand years old – - and that most of its massive rock strata, extinct fossil beds and useful mineral and oil and coal deposits were formed in a matter of months by Noah’s Flood. In so doing they provided evolutionists with easy targets, and sacrificed their own scientific credibility in the process.

However, as historical documents show, even early Victorian geologists, many of whom were committed Christians, became convinced that the earth was very old indeed. And still today, little-known groups such as the “Affiliation of Christian Geologists” and the “Society of Ordained Scientists” also know better, but generate little publicity for their beliefs.

Sadly, then, as evolutionist have attacked the plain errors of young-earth creationists with relish, they have been further encouraged in their own false beliefs. As a result, in recent decades, evolution has appeared to go from strength to strength, to the extent that one evolutionist web site I have corresponded with has even stopped updating its anti-creationist comment, understandably confident that the war against the Bible has finally been won.

Evolutionary Faith
As the western world celebrates the life and works of Charles Darwin, few members of the public yet realize that even over a century after the publication of “The Origin of Species”, his theory of evolution continues to fail the two simple scientific tests he proposed for it himself. Fewer still will know that in the continued absence of that proof, evolution has become a self-evident Truth, a “faith” -- as devout evolutionists are simply unable to accept the alternatives --i.e. God of magic. As a result, the imagined miracles of evolution are glibly explained by the use of vague verbs, such as “acquired”, “learned”, “invented” and “evolved” that actually explain nothing in technical cause-and-effect detail. They don't need to. They simply believe it.

Preposterous Nonsense
And perhaps because the BBC now irresponsibly assert that “evolution is a fact”, even fewer will understand that evolution still lacks a credible mechanism to account for the massive complexity of even a single cell -- other than the accumulation of random DNA copying errors when organisms reproduce, a concept that even evolutionist author Derek Hough readily admits is “preposterous”.

By revisiting and updating the oddly-neglected old-earth or “gap theory” teachings of Rev. William Buckland in particular, “Evolution: R.I.P.”, dentifies and corrects the errors of both evolutionists an young-earth creationists, and offers a simple alternative scenario, “G-Theory”, based on recent scientific discoveries, which suggests that although Genesis is not a science textbook, the creation account is in fact scientifically accurate and literally true.

Two Simple Goals
“Evolution: R.I.P.” has two simple goals -- to open the eyes of Christian people everywhere to the massive fraud that has been foisted on the western world by Charles Darwin and his modern-day atheistic supporters led by Richard Dawkins, Professor Steve Jones, and more recently by Dr Sean B.
